MONDAY, Oct. 7

TUESDAY, Oct. 8
7:30 a.m. – The Board has been invited to attend the La Plata Economic Development Alliance Investors meeting at the Florida Room of the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave., Durango.
9 a.m. – EXECUTIVE SESSION
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4) upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:
a) To provide legal advice regarding the code enforcement case and actions taken by the code enforcement team regarding Shane French’s business operations, located at 5115 County Road 309A, Ignacio, CO
b) Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e) regarding discussion of positions and strategy related to a potential settlement agreement with Shane French regarding code violations

10 a.m. – BUSINESS AGENDA
The Board will consider:

  • Presentation of the 2020 Proposed Budget
  • Approval of county cash requirements as prepared and posted by the Finance Department and direct staff to publish
  • Approval of a renewal of a retail liquor store license for Rocky Mountain Liquors
  • Approval of a renewal of a retail liquor store license for TBR Service
  • Approval of Resolution No. 2019-27 cancelling a personal property tax lien for Mesa Airlines for tax year 2010, account U800036
  • Approval of the establishment of the E911 Surcharge for 2020 by Resolution 2019-29
  • Approval of Amendment No. 4 to the lease agreement between La Plata County and the General Services Administration for space in the La Plata County Courthouse
  • Approval of a letter of support for Falls Creek Ranch Homeowners Association for a Colorado State Forest Service Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation Fuels and Forest Health grant application for a chipper purchase
  • Approval of a letter of support for Falls Creek Ranch Homeowners Association for a Colorado State Forest Service Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation Fuels and Forest Health grant application to hire a logger and sawyers
  • Approval of a letter of support for Timberdale Ranch for a Colorado State Forest Service Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation Fuels and Forest Health grant application for fire mitigation in their subdivision
  • Approval of letters to Senator Alexander, Senator Feinstein, Senator Bennet, Senator Gardner and Congressman Tipton requesting federal funding for the Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action program to support safely excavating, transporting and storing tailings from uranium processing sites and vicinity properties that were missed in the previous clean-up efforts
  • Approval of a letter of support for Table to Farm Compost's grant application from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for their compost and artisan soil product line
  • Approval of the consent for right of entry for reclamation activities on an inactive mine on county-owned property

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 9
8:30 a.m. – BOARD DISCUSSION TIME:  The Commissioners will meet among themselves and with staff to discuss various issues. An agenda for this meeting will be posted by Tuesday morning at:  http://laplatacountyco.iqm2.com/Citizens/calendar.aspx
12 p.m. – The Board has been invited to attend a meeting of the Green Business Roundtable at the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave., Durango.
1:30 p.m. – The Board will meet with staff to discuss the 2020 county budget in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 1101 E. 2nd Ave., Durango.

THURSDAY, Oct. 10
7:30 a.m. – The Board will meet with members of the Durango City Council and staff to discuss issues of mutual interest in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 1101 E. 2nd Ave., Durango.
10 a.m. – Commissioner Julie Westendorff will hold office hours for members of the public to meet with her to discuss issues of mutual interest or concern at the Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave., Durango.
3 p.m. – Commissioner Clyde Church will hold office hours for members of the public to meet with him to discuss issues of mutual interest or concern at the Breen Community Center, 15300 Hwy. 140, Hesperus.

FRIDAY, Oct. 11
12 p.m. – The Board will meet with staff from Habitat for Humanity for an update on their mission and programs, at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio, Durango.
2:30 p.m. – The Board has been invited to attend the dedication of the Robert Dolphin, Jr. Presidential Suite at Fort Lewis College’s Berndt Hall, 1000 Rim Dr., Durango.
