New visitation options for connecting with inmates

Beginning Dec. 5, additional options will be available for those wishing to visit. with an inmate at the La Plata County Jail.

For on-site visitation, available Tuesday-Saturday you will need to make an appointment for the following day. Adult visitors are required to bring valid government photo ID; visiting children must have a birth certificate or Social Security card with them.

In addition to on-site visits, La Plata County Sheriff's Office will now offer visitors the option to connect with inmates via telephone, tablet or computer using Securus Technologies. This service will allow visitations 7 days a week from anywhere, during an expanded range of hours.

 Visitation procedures

On-site visitation

On-site visits to La Plata County Jail, 742 Turner Drive in Durango, are available Tuesday-Saturday 
8-10 a.m. 
2-3 p.m. 
7-8 p.m.

Call (970) 247-1161 Ext. 2 between 
8-11 a.m. Monday through Friday to schedule an appointment for the following day.

Adults must bring a government picture ID; Children must bring a birth certificate or Social Security card.

At-home  visitation

 Visit with an inmate any day of the week from any location using your phone, tablet or computer. 

7-11 a.m.
12-4 p.m.
7-10 p.m.
